1 ¼ cups granulated sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 generous tablespoon cinnamon
Double-crust pie mix
Peel, core, and slice enough cooking apples for 6 cups.
Add sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon; mix well.
Pour the apple mixture into a prepared pie pan lined with the bottom half of a double-crust pie mix
Place 5-6 generous pats of butter on top.
Cover with the upper layer of pie crust dough.
Prick the top of the pie with a fork 6-7 times in a decorative manner.
Bake in a preheated oven to 425º for 15 minutes.
Turn the temperature down to 350º and continue baking for 1 hour.
Place foil underneath the pie in the oven to avoid seepage onto the oven floor.
